The back compartment has elastic straps to secure an extra set of clothes and a large zippered mesh pocket to hold personal items.  Use the D-ring on the side to attach your keys, umbrella, or other necessary items with your carabiner.  The adjustable leather shoulder strap has webbing on the backside for added strength and will hold onto your shoulder while remaining comfortable to wear.
